Donald McLean, Southend

On 31^st July, I was privileged to enjoy the beautiful Boathouse Studio provided by Donald Mclean, an kind-hearted owner of the Dunaverty Rock self-catering holiday accommodations at Southend. 

Donnie is an absolutely wonderful person and an inspiring character who I had a privilege to meet along my journey. Donnie hosted me for one night but the memory of his kindness and the stunning beauty of the location will remain with me forever.

Look at these pictures, I honestly cannot imagine more charming place  than Donnie’s boathouse. Especially, as it is also a home for a family of otters which you can spot bothering near your door in the mornings and evenings.  I too had a great pleasure to watch an otter while it was swimming in the bay.  Here is the website if you would like to know more about The Dunaverty Rock holiday :

Donnie also introduced me to his delightful family:   his oldest son Alistair with Karina, his second son Oliver with Chloe and little adorable girl Olivia, his third, adopted son Daniel and Sheena. 

I had a great pleasure to have a dinner with all of them and from the bottom of my heart I would like to thanks them all for such a lovely evening and delicious meal, for their kindness and generosity and for being so welcoming towards a stranger! Xxx
