My title Ellis and Lilian Carmichael, Oban – Elizabeth's Footprint

Ellis and Lilian Carmichael, Oban

From 9th to 14th August, I was blessed to find a home with the amazing family of Lilian and Ellis Carmichael at Oban, Argyll region. They heard about Elizabeth’s Footprint story from Ruth, our mutual friend from Cheltenham and ‘adopted’ me for six days in a row – my longest ever stay with one family.  wp_20160811_09_19_22_pro

Lilian and Ellis welcomed me into their loving house like I was their own child and provided me with everything I could need for a comfortable stay and peaceful rest. They also welcomed my friends Ruth and Sara who travelled from Cheltenham to pay me a visit, we are all extremely grateful that you accepted us all with open arms, it allowed us time to snuggle up by the lovely log burner to chat and then enjoy wonderful home cooked feasts, mostly Lasagne, my favourite!

Lilian is a keen walker and accompanied me for four days and even carried on with me on my wettest walking days, I really appreciated having her company and guidance. Ellis would help us with logistic and would always bring some humour to the day, making us all smile, he also helped me work on my ‘Scottish’ accent, I especially liked saying Highland Cow!

It was an absolute privilege to meet Lilian and Ellis and to spend time with their amazing family, son, daughter in law, daughter and grandson and l will always have a smile remembering the delightful time I have spent with them all.

You certainly have a wonderful kind community and I Thank You for everything that you have done for me from letting me be part of your family to spreading the word about Elizabeth’s Footprint. I will always cherish the time I spent with you. xxx
